Western Spirit Football Club is a completely volunteer led and run club located on the western outskirts of Brisbane. We provide fun and affordable football for players of all ages, Junior boys & girls, Senior Men's and Women's teams, Masters (over 35) and Ipswich's first Walking Football program.
We welcome players of all skills and abilities and draws from the suburbs of Camira, Goodna, Springfield, Springfield Lakes, Brookwater, Redbank, Collingwood Park to Forest Lake and surrounding areas.

Western Spirit - Senior Mens Trials 2027 Season
Spirit is gearing up for the 2027 season and we’re searching for driven, competitive and resilient players ready to take the next step in their football journey.
Trials for QPL4 Men, Metro Men and Under 18s will be held at Kippen Park, Goodna, led by Director of Football Joe Fenech and our Senior Coaching Team.

Initial trials will be held on 7, 14, 21 and 28 October, kicking off at 6:45pm with registration from 6:30pm. Pre‑season begins in November and runs through mid‑December.

Western Spirit - Senior Women Trials
Western Spirit continues to strengthen its Senior Women’s program after finishing as Metro Division 2 runners‑up, with our sights now firmly set on competing in Division 1 for the 2027 season. To support this progression, we are seeking driven, determined and team‑focused players ready to contribute to a growing senior environment, and to come and join the fun at Spirit, Football Queensland’s Community Club of the Year.
We are also accepting Expressions of Interest for our Division 6 Metro Women and our newly formed Legends Women’s team, both offering a more social and enjoyable football experience while still valuing commitment and dedication.
Senior Women’s Trials will commence Wednesday 21 October at Kippen Park, Goodna, running every Wednesday for six weeks through to 25 November. All sessions begin at 6:45pm (arrive by 6:30pm to register)

Whether you’re returning or brand new to Spirit, our Junior Divisional Open Sessions are the perfect chance to experience a club built on community, development and genuine enjoyment of the game.
Weekly coaching sessions at our Camira training facility, with match days at Kippen Park, a setup that keeps our fields in excellent condition all year and gives players a first‑class matchday experience.
At Western Spirit, every player receives training kit, full playing kit, all club, match and referee fees included. You’ll train twice a week with qualified coaches under the guidance of our Director of Football and Junior Technical Director, ensuring a supportive and development‑focused environment.
Players also benefit from sports science support, junior player development pathways, and match footage access to help all our players learn and grow. Serious development, not serious fees.

Our Club Handbook contains everything, well almost everything, you need to know about your 2026 season at Western Spirit.
This season's release provides comprehensive information about the club's operations, including contact details, committee positions, and key responsibilities. It outlines the season schedule, registration process, and fee structure, along with policies on conduct, social media, and volunteering. Wet Weather Procedures
In the event of wet weather, please refer to the Coach & Managers Heja group or the Western Spirit Facebook or Instagram pages for confirmation if a game and/or training session has been cancelled.
The Clubs Facebook page will endeavour to provide an update on the status of home fields by 7:00am on a Saturday morning. Additionally, the Club will advise Club coaches who will contact teams, as soon as possible of any cancellations.
The best advice is DO NOT LEAVE HOME without checking Facebook if it has been raining, even if the skies are blue. Heja to the coaches and Facebook will always our first port of call; notifications can be sent on some occasions via SMS to your phone for immediate notification. If you are still unsure contact your coach, miniroos coordinator or message the club.
Why we close our fields.
Primarily for player safety, but also for field preservation. Our fields are precious and damage to them (especially early in the season) can have detrimental effects on the playing surface. If we can limit unnecessary degrading, we not only are ensuring it lasts for the entire season, but it also protects our Club players from being seriously injured because of an unsafe pitch being used.
Additionally, our fields are owned and managed by Ipswich City Council, and we are obligated to follow their directions on field closures. The Club is liable for repair costs when fields are damaged as a result of wet weather play. The Club endeavours to communicate this information as swiftly as possible in all circumstances, but it is never an easy process. We appreciate your patience during these unforeseeable circumstances.
